Please include the following in your I-Show Submission:
1. Your contact information
a. Name
b. Phone number
c. Email address
2. The play you want to direct
a. Title
b. Author
c. Number of male and female roles
d. A synopsis
3. Rights information: DPS (Dramatists Play Service) and Sam French are typical places, but as long as you can find out how much rights would be and where to get them, that’s what matters. If you can’t find rights information for a show you want to submit, do not submit that show.
4. Your vision for the show: this is a vital piece of your submission. Let us know why you want to direct this show, how you’d like to stage it, or what you find compelling about the show. This can be as extensive as you’d like it to be. Your vision is a very important part of our decision-making process.
5. Tech info:
a. Your vision for the set (if you have one)
b. If there is an aspect of the show that you know might be a tech issue, let us know if you have an idea about how you would handle it, alternate staging options, etc.
6. Optional: you don’t need to send us the whole script of the show. But if you’d like, you can attach as a pdf or jpeg a maximum 5-page long section of the show that you think represents your vision of the show, or the essence of the play. You can also let us know how you would stage that part of the play if you’d like.
Important Dates:
-Submissions are due by Tuesday, November 19th at midnight (email to jhubarnstormers@gmail.com)
-Auditions will be held during reading period, with exact dates TBD.
