Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is the night! It’s the opening of Twelve Angry Jurors, and I’m feeling the usual emotions that tag along on this happy day: excitement, a rush of adrenaline, maybe even a dash of nervousness. In a few hours, I will be under the bright lights with my fellow castmates,
covered in hairspray and bobby pins and stage makeup. But today is actually a pretty great day for a different reason as well.I voted in my first presidential election! Believe it or not, I think these two exciting events are related.Twelve Angry Jurors is, at its heart, a play about democracy. The jurors are ordinary citizens who are entrusted with an incredibly difficult decision. Some of them are very vocal, others are nervous about making their unpopular opinions heard. In the end, however, what becomes important is not power or bombast, but ideas. Each person has a right to his or her own ideas, and with those ideas comes a power greater than any fist. As I reflect on this exciting day, I think about how accurately this insightful play depicts the wonderful and extremely frustrating democratic process. As my own character says so wisely, we forget how lucky we are, and it’s good to be reminded every once in a while.

Tory Haltermann '14 - Publicity
I am SUPER excited for this year's mainstage! I got to sit in on a rehearsal the other day and everything looked great. As you can see from the pictures below the actors are in costume, in character and ready to go!
Publicity ran into some issues when hurricane Sandy came to call, as in she destroyed everything outside....including posters and mural boards. But with the help of the cast and crew we weathered through, yay publicity!
Hope to see everyone at the show!
Whichever way you decide, the verdict must be unanimous.
